Hankook Tire the seventh-largest and one of the fastest growing tire manufacturers in the world, announced its participation in Tokyo Auto Salon 2010, the world’s largest automotive component and tuning exhibition, to be held at Nippon Convention Center in Tokyo during January 15~17. Hankook Tire, which is enjoying greater brand recognition in Japan through its consistent motorsports activities and expanding distribution network, will showcase a total of eight products that demonstrate Kontrol Technology, its philosophy and set of proprietary innovations. In particular, Hankook plans to unveil two new products featuring world-class technologies.
A diverse range of industry personnel related to the tire, auto component, tuning, service and aftermarket sectors, as well as premium customers attend Tokyo Auto Salon. Hankook Tire’s booth will display products that have received worldwide recognition for technology and performance as well as innovative tires targeted at the Japanese market.
Hankook Tire plans to unveil two new products for the very first time through Tokyo Auto Salon. Ventus R-s3 and Optimo H426 are high-performance, environmentally-friendly tires that demonstrate Hankook’s superior technology. During Tokyo Auto Salon 2009, Hankook received much attention from the highly competitive Japanese market for its pioneering technology present in three new tires, including the environmentally-friendly product, enfren, and two high-performance tires.
The Ventus R-s3 that will be revealed at Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 is a next-generation tire employing motorsports technology. Winner of the 2009 Super GT300, Kinoshita Mitsuhiro, participated in its development. From the stylish fire frame to the compound, grip, and contact patch, the Ventus R-s3 boasts pure racing technology and has already proven its capabilities in prominent global racing competitions.
The Optimo H426 is an environmentally-friendly tire that satisfies demands for both braking performance and lower fuel consumption. New materials, fuel efficient comfort technology, and 20% reduced rolling resistance (the resistance that occurs when a tire rolls on a flat road) compared to existing products contribute to minimizing damaging effects on the environment and enhancing fuel economy.
Kim Se-heon, Managing Director of Branding at Hankook Tire, said, “The exhibition will serve as a good opportunity for us to showcase Hankook’s technology to global leaders in Japan, the world’s leading tire market. We plan to bolster our profile on the global market through aggressive marketing to increase our brand awareness and promote our world class technology by continuing to develop and launch ultra high performance and environmentally products.”
Launched in 1983, Tokyo Auto Salon is the world’s largest automotive component and tuning exhibition. Every year, approximately 320 automobile and tire related companies participate in the show. Hankook Tire first displayed its technologically advanced tires at the event in 2003. Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 is expected to attract some 250,000 visitors, including tire dealers from all over Japan and Southeast Asia and dealers related to fleet (vehicles leased en masse by large corporations) services.
